Introduction

Human beings usually recognize a person and a thing judging from an eye without being conscious.
However, what will you do to let a computer and a robot perform this structure?
For this problem, we aim at the application to the field of welfare and security system in this laboratory and, perform research activities.

Study field

Personal recognition by the face image

We think that we use a human face for the personal certification of the security system.
If a partner is a human being, so-called "face pass" works, but it is not a simple thing for the computer.
We aim at the realization of the strong system which a certification error is hard to occur.

Sign-language recognition

We aim at the construction of a system assisting smooth communication with a hearing handicapped person and the healthy people.

Sign language animation image synthesis

This is a study to translate the input sentence into sign language, and to generate the animation image.
This study is effective for interface construction to aim at smooth communication with a hearing handicapped person and the healthy people.

Lip animation image synthesis

This is a study to generate an animation image which move a lip in accordance with sentence which we input.
We can expect application to the movement designs of the character of the CG.
